To our fifth Pony Club Newsletter. This newsletter is all about things happening in our pony club and written by our pony club members.
WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?
This month we have done our flags of the equestrian nations badge which included identifying flags, countries and their capital and knowing where they are on a map of the world.
We have started working towards our riding and road safety badge, So far we have learnt some road signs and road markings and how to correctly signal at junctions and how to say thank you to other road users. We have discussed about how to deal with different situations when out hacking including spooking and bolting.
To test for the badge we will have to show that we can safely ride on the road and manoeuvre around obstacles such as cars and signal correctly at junctions and roundabouts. This will be done on a simulated road route set up in a field.
For those that have passed their D+ test they need to achieve this badge before they are able to progress onto their C test.
