Pony Club News 1

WELCOME...

To our first pony club newsletter. This newsletter is all about things happening in our pony club and written by our pony club members. We hope to produce this monthly as a way of reporting on things we have done and achieved, include a game or puzzle and a mention on what we are planning on doing next

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

In January we have been doing our loading badge. We first learnt how to prepare a pony for travelling. This included using travel bandages, a tail bandage, travel boots and different types of rugs. We used both Charlie and Robin to practice loading into the lorry and the trailer. We learnt to use the centre of the ramp and be extra aware of their feet so that we don’t get stood on! We also covered safety checks on the vehicles and on us like not wearing high heels and making sure we always wear a hat and gloves. We know we should always have a car attached to the trailer before loading and help our parents check the lights before we set off anywhere. We all passed our loading badge successfully and are now starting our Care of the horses foot badge.
