WELCOME......

To our sixth Pony Club Newsletter. This newsletter is all about things happening in our pony club and written by our pony club members

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

This month we have been doing security & safety awareness, road safety, a bit more of our plaiting badge and completed our farriery badge. With our farriery badge we learnt how to recognise when a horse needs to be shod and all the tools needed. The plaiting badge involved learning the different types of plait and practicing bobbling up the horses mane.

For our security and safety awareness we have been looking at a wide range of things including looking at pictures of stables and identifying things that are wrong, we each chose a horse and filled in a identification form for them, we produced a poster on micro-chipping, hoof branding, freeze marking and tack and trailer branding.

Next month we are going to finish off the security and safety awareness badge and the road safety. We hope to start the equine first aid. Over half term we are going to ride in a simulated road for our road safety.

PONY OF THE MONTH!

CHLOE

FULL NAME : Chloe

COLOUR : Bay

WHY IS  SHE PONY OF THE MONTH : She has typical thoroughbred feet – poor! So has been turned away for a while without shoes on so her feet can grow. Her feet have improved now so she has returned to work.
